Budget hit penalty updated ahead of Google's bidding change
New columns for bid strategy, bid target, and performance status make it faster to prioritise budget-limited campaigns in light of Google's bidding update.
Google's bidding update changes how budget-limited campaigns behave - and the campaigns most at risk are the ones already performing well. We've updated the Budget hit penalty so you can spot them faster.
The penalty now includes bid strategy, bid target, and performance status alongside existing budget data, so teams managing dozens or hundreds of campaigns can prioritise in seconds rather than reviewing account by account. Campaigns flagged as "performing" and budget-limited should sit at the top of the list - they stand to lose the most once the update lands.
In Squared.io, you can set up penalty alerts to be notified automatically as campaigns become budget-limited, so review doesn't depend on remembering to check.
